Why is Kurdistan special?
Kurdistan is not only a name, place on the map or area surrounded by border.
Kurdistan is identified by its lovely people and its beautiful nature.
The Kurdish people have a unique way of living, special sense of humour, generousness and kindness, which make you feel like home. No matter who you are, you are welcome in their country, shops, restaurants and houses and they are ready to help you, if you need anything!
The nature in Kurdistan is very special – the mountain view, the lakes and the waterfalls will make you fall in love with it so easily!
In the bazaar we have local stuff, tasty food and very high quality things, which you can’t find in other countries .
If you are interested to see the real life of Kurds you should visit Kurdistan in Newroz (the kurdish new year) on the 21st of March. The preparation starts much earlier in the mentioned month. Its the time period when we practice our traditions and celebrate together, people dancing Halparke (traditional kurdish dancing) all over the mountains and you may find them in the city center, too!
Apart from that, if you wanna speak about strong and brave people you should mention Peshmerge (military forces of kurdistan), they were and will be always fighting for peace and freedom, everyday we are losing many of them for no reason but one: being Kurd!
May God let them rest in peace and let their family be surrounded with patience.
From our place we can’t do a lot just praying for them in this holy month, Ramadan, and asking God to protect them in this critical situation in eastern Kurdistan (Rojhalat).
